Palestinian Protest Rally : When photographing news events, political and or protest rallies I take an old school journalistic approach. I simply take images that I hope will document the people, the event and the emotions. While at these type of events I don't engage in any dialog, with regard to my position. I document, that's it.

San Jose Tea Party 4-15-09 : This is the Tea Party held in San Jose CA. The group was very friendly calm, and up beat. The event had carnival air to it, with a number of conservative speakers. The younger kids didn't know what was happening, they were just having a fun time. The older ones were able to calmly articulate the reason the Tea Party was being held and seem to have a good grasp of the current situation. The opposition was, well, the opposite. While a small group they were angry loud, inarticulate, and seem to be against America, the flag, any boarder control, and they seemed to be in favor of socialism, and anarchy. They wanted to cause confrontations, and were the reason the police were there in riot gear. What I found interesting was that while the majority of the opposition group appeared to be easily duped types, there was one guy there who was the leader. He was directing the others and was focused. He would direct then move back out the chanting group and watch from a distance. This guy was the real instigator, but while he had the others doing his bidding he was standing out of harms way.
